What is the best thermostat for central heating on the market to recommend

Why is Nest the most recommended thermostat by fellow gas engineers

The Nest thermostat is most recommended by fellow gas engineers because it learns when you best want the central heating on and off, saving your energy costs when you least need it. It has it’s own Nest thermostat App so that you can turn it on or off as you pleased. You can also have multiple zones for turning either upstairs or downstair on or off but can also be zoned from 1 to every bedroom if you are prepared to buy more than just one or two thermostats.

If your buying the Nest room thermostat on its own, then you will not be able to control each room on its own as it will only be functional for the one area such as your living room where it detects the temperature like most thermostats are like today for the whole house. If you buy more than one Nest thermostat, then you can start to zone the areas in your home and yes you can then control rooms by each zone giving you more control and saving you even further energy bills.

Can anyone fit the Nest thermostat

It is strongly advised that you look for a Nest room thermostat fitting service that you contact a company that has been trained in fitting the product. Nest Room Thermostat Problems & Cures – My Nest Thermostat has stopped work or I can connect it up.

This is an update to the article Nest room thermostat fitting service. I (Martin Smith) personally went out to deal with a faulty Nest room thermostat for the first time on Saturday 7th February for some hand on experience and yes like most engineers fitting them for the first time, I could get it working but that is because I missed out some simply instruction that I could seem to find but also with no help from a technician that was also Nest qualified. What the next paragraph is about, is to try and help those in a similar situation.

Nest Thermostat won’t connect to the heat link

In the house Martin Smith went to where the Nest room thermostat had a problem with the heat link disconnecting itself, but then not connecting was due to 2 factors. The first factor was interference as the heat link was too close (30cm minimum) to the boiler and the possibly that there was arial wiring in the same cupboard causing interference. However when trying to connect, between myself and the customer, we must of spent 2-hours each trying to get it working which included 1-hour trying to connect a new one with no success.

The problem we found out is that the thermostat won’t connect if it was not on it’s base which we had been doing all the time. Once you have tried to connect it up well it’s not on the base and you try to connect it when you put it back on the base, then it simple won’t connect.

What you need to do is, connect the Nest room thermostat to the internet and reset from factory setting and try setting up again but you must make sure the Nest room thermostat is connected onto it base.

If you have any further Nest room thermostat problem and cures then we like to know about them and your experience by visiting our contact us page and sending us an email so we can add it to the article.
