Plumber & gas engineer of the year 2016

Welcome to EPHG plumber & gas engineer of the year where all our engineers on our network are judge on all there qualities. For the past 4 years we have done plumber of the year 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Every month we will be updating this page so feel free to look back on your currently position.

Here are the list of engineer who have won plumber of the year.

Lee (The Animal) Cambell 2012.

Damon (DrIvE Hard) (disqualified) 2013.

Thomas (Tank) Sweeney 2014.

Andrew (Chicken Leg) Jones 2015.

Mohammed (Never Say No) Ali 2016.

If you would like to know how the engineers score there points or your an engineer wondering on how to score points then click on this link ‘how do I score for plumber of the Month & Year‘.

January 2016

Last month we had a record month of which so much can happen, however again this has been the 3rd most busy month in the last 4 years. The weather has been warm but colder than last month where theres been snow and ice but on to an average -2. Andrew our current plumber of the month has been away on holiday so it looks like there will be no points for him.

Dave who came 2nd has been studying to be a gas engineer so getting points may also be unrealistic. We have plenty of new engineers this month of whom we hope to get on our list making a difference to our company. New plans to the business expansion in the talks.

Having a good month can also come with its lows. We have been un-happy with 2 engineers, one for not turning up to a job and the other using violent conduction of which we take zero tolerance for. We offer a suspension but they opted for a fine instead and probationary period meaning we get a report on each job for the next 3 months.

February 2016

The month has started slow, however we are sad to lose Gerard doing the calls and we are now taking much more calls again. Since the second week of February we have found ourselves much busier but not only that we have now gone into the electrical emergencies.

I would like to thank Mainly Andrew & Mohammed for there payment contributions. Andrew & Ali have been doing very well with there reviews. I would like to thank Andrew, Ali, Mohammed, Gary, Steve & Dave for the distance they have covered in helping out in hard times.

As for next month, lets hope it continues as the weather seems to be staying, however, traditionally March does slow down as the warmer weather comes in.

March 2016

March has been a very very busy month but not only in work but also in preparations for a new studio van, new website (not ready) and new App that will change the way we do emergencies. For this reason we are doing March & April together.

April 2016

Again, this has been very busy due to business expansion and our new staff Adrian Preston going us. If it wasn’t for our new staff then I wouldn’t be writing this plumber of the month review. We are hoping the new website will be ready for the start of May 1st, The studio van should hopefully be ready for mid May and the App should be ready for the end of May or much sooner.

Even though we have had many lead fees paid to us this month, the quality of the reviews have dropped, but I put this down to last months plumber or the month not being done but please keep in mind, this plumber of the month is going to take off in style once the app is out so I strongly recommend it is good to get as many points as possible.

Please bare in mind that in the last 2 months, that the below engineers have been our best out of 560+ engineers from around the UK. There are many other engineers we would like to include but unfortunately, we can only give a maximum of 10 engineers points in each month.

May 2016

May has been a little like March with so much going on, there are now over 600+ engineers register and our new staff Adrian is well under way but again we just seem to busy to say much this month and will do a double take in next month.

June 2016

May and June have seen many reviews but not as many as I would like which is possible down to the lack of news with engineer of the month, however there has been many engineer covering much distance and paying there money.

This month I would like to pay a special thanks to 2 engineer who have got joint top place, one is Thomas Sweeney who won plumber of the year in 2014 and the other is Mohammed Ali from Scotland.

There will be many changes in July due to the new App that has come out called Signed Notes and is available in the App store now. This been the reviews will be much more with plenty of customer care given.

We would also like to mention the arrival of Michael Walker who joined us in the last few days of June, Michael will now be taking customer calls and be passing jobs out to the engineers so please give him a nice welcome if you speak to him for the first time.

July 2016

July has been the second most busy month ever and very nearly the most busy month if it wasn’t for the phone line problems we had.

This month is also the first month where its not only Martin Smith the director of EPHG Limited voting which engineer is in the top 10 out of hundreds of engineers but also Adrian Preston and Michael Walker have both voted also before we combine meaning what could of been the top could now get completely different results.

This is also the first month that the videos start on the new website www.ephg.limited which should be getting very exciting. We also have the signed notes you can no w download.

As completion gets strong for engineer of the month we thank everyone who took part and happy to show the lucky lot of engineers that are lucky to make it in the top 10 for July.

August 2016

This month has been very similar to July and very nearly breaking the record and if it wasn’t for the phone problems we had been getting then this record would of been broken by now.

This month hasn’t really seen any stand out engineers however there have still been many engineer performing very well.

The month has had its ups and downs with some let downs regarding Apps, phones, new staff leaving us un-pleased as perfection is all we want.

We do have a new App in mind that we estimate in the cost of £7000 which is an App to turn yourself on/off call just like it’s previous App, however the new one will be much much better. Feel free to asked question but other than that then just below is the engineer of the month.

September

In some ways we will be glad that September is over due to staff leaving and 2 new staff coming in who are Paul Gray and Christopher Duncan. September has been exhausting but now that we have some new staff, a week into October should feel much easier just as were about to enter the more busier months of the year.

Due to an app company and an internet company we have been using that haven’t been able to get the EPHG App working, we have taken Paul Gray on full time to build a new app from scratch to help make the company work much better.

Martin Smith will soon be getting back to his videos but overall as the winter closes in, work should pick up for everyone.

The September month as seen more competition to get in the top 10 and for the very first time we have had to leave engineers out that have also done very well. As we see the business growing, we also see the competition getting harder to be found in the top ten engineers voted by points but a panel of 3 staff and soon to be 4 staff.

We also find Mohammed only 7 points from winning engineer of the year and in all honesty unless he falls of a cliff, then he most definitely deserves it due to his efforts he has put in to the company. On another point, Mohammed Ali is the only engineer to drive from the west coast to the east coast a few times this year.

October

This month has seen about a 30% increase of emergency call outs due to the cold weather coming in and as seen in previous years, this is always a good test for our best engineers we have on our system.

Unlike previous months, this is the first time there has been 4 lots of votes which can change everything from everyones perspective. To get into the top 10 is getting harder each time as we get new engineers on the system.

This month has seen 3 new members manage get into position 5, 6 and 8 meaning 3 engineer who are normally on the top 10 lose there place. Martins favourite for the month came in 9th place, so it shows that each member of staff have there own favourite who have helped them out the most and how competitive it’s getting.

All the staff use there own method of scoring knowing what works best for them when deciding who’s the best. Martin’s 3rd best engineer of the month didn’t even make it in the top 10 because nobody else voted for them. The was only one engineer in the top 10 that everyone gave a vote for and this goes to Gary Angus scoring 9 – 9 – 6 – 1 = 25 points. The most points that an engineer can get will be 40 points so 25 out of 40 is very good.

Next month will see a small increase of emergencies due to new advertising coming out as it starts to spread across the uk.

September has also seen an engineer win plumber of the year for EPHG Limited and we can say very easy that he most definitely deserves it. Lets say a big thank you to Mohammed Ali from the West Lothian area in Scotland, you have been a big credit to our company.

November – December

Another busy month gone by and the biggest month amongst us as we enter December the most stressful month of all for call outs. This is also the month that we have taken on new staff, strategy is also changing slow and the company is growing.

This is also the last post for the news on this website as the shift now goes on to the new website www.ephg.limited

The top engineers this month came very close but they can’t share the top 3 positions and one does have to come first and it does come of point and lucky for Ismatullah Mandozai (Ali) it was him.

The plumber of the month will be back at the end of the January where points will be scored from the December to January. This will be the very first done by video so its very important that you find yourself in the top 10.

From next year there will be a panel of 5 staff that will place there top 5 engineers of the month, the top 5 will score of element depending on how well they have done. As done in every year there is always a gift done for the winner and the gift this year goes to Mohammed Ali from Scotland.

Engineer Of The Month August

How to do plumbing point scoring when it comes to plumber of the Month & Year

How does the plumbing point scoring work, well just below we will explain.

1. Reviews

Reviews are very important in our company, the more you get the more we will want you to get the jobs first. By doing this we encourage more plumbers and gas engineers to get more reviews and the higher we regard the engineer.

5 points are given per 5-star review received (Maximum 2 reviews per day)

0 points are given per 4-star review received

-5 points on 3 star and below reviews received

2. Job Fees (does not include customers paying call out fee to engineer)

We expect every month for every engineer to get follow on work which they should pay there 10% fees.

Above £400 20-points

Above £200 10-points

Above £100 5-points

1 point per £20 paid

3. Distance

A minimum distance we expect an engineer to drive is half an hour but we do get some engineer from time to time that will travel over an hour away. At least once a month we get an engineer that would travel between 90 to 120-minutes away not that Martin Smith would do this himself but who ever does this deserves the points.

1 hour or more – 1 point.

1 hour 20 minutes – 2 points

1 hour 40 minutes – 3 points

2 hours or more – 4 points

4. Getting to customer within time

We expect every emergency to be attended within 90-minutes but this can be different depending on the situation being distance and customer expectancy time. Non emergency basis are not included in this expectancy time.

See extra points below.

5. Top person being on call and good use of App

There is no such thing as minus point here but if your on call and you take every job, depending on the amount of jobs this can score you well.

See extra points below.

6. Customers calling us back that have used the plumber before or passing new customers our way

What we expect from the engineer that if a customer calls the engineer for further work for example an emergency, then the engineer MUST say please contact EPHG Ltd on 07720 247 247 (or if the engineer does the work without telling the customer to contact us, then at least pay the 10% labour fees) (non emergencies only). By taking on the emergency but not mentioning this, this can turn out to be a Minus 20-points.

See extra points below.

Extra points from 4, 5 & 6

Extra points below are from the above 4 – 5 and 6 but also may include other ways. Only 10 engineers will score from here, 10 being the most please engineer from 4, 5 and 6 or other and 0 being the least pleased. As there are over 519 engineers registered to date, getting in the top 10 is very good so please don’t be disappointed if you find yourself bottom of the top 10.

Social Media Plumbing & Gas Safe Abuse

Have you been a victim of social media plumbing & Gas Safe abuse, Martin Smith has! From time to time, there is always one that likes to try and expose someone, maybe they think that there being outcasts, alone, unable to provide or just trying to be popular by exposing fellow engineer. In most cases, it is all about exposing to gain.

These days most social people socialising on networks like to gain as many followers as they can including Martin Smith. The ways to gain followers can be by just being popular, aggressive techniques by using social media abuse & gas safe abuse but does this always work? Well I will let you decide this after Martin Smith gives his opinion on what has happened to him.

Martin Smith well growing up and his view on life, it’s not been easy at all with not having enough family support, however having managed to get an NVQ in plumbing but very low grades when it comes to his school life. Martin Smith claims he has had passed learning difficulties but after reading this, does it look like he has learning difficulties or is it the reason he has had an unfair start in life and is now flourishing.

Martin has a moto in life which is build it and they will come inspired by a film he once watched. The trouble is, when building a business, it also brings the bad along as well as the good and the only way to deal with this is to welcome the bad ones and try to turn it into a positive. To all the bad Martin has received up to now has been turned into a positive and makes the business much stronger and helps with forward thinking into the future.

So what does the future hold for Martin Smith? Plumbing In Space! On a serious note, anything is possible, hopefully and most likely positive in Martin Smith’s opinion.

Martin Smith has recently been involved in an online dispute where there were plenty of false claims such as you’ve walked away from your kids, you don’t pay maintenance, you owe money to builders merchants in the way of thousands, Martin Smith was supposed to be unsafe with gas safe situations but with no proof of this at all AND ALL THIS IS COMPLETELY UNTRUE.

Pictures found on the internet by fellow gas safe engineers were shared amongst fellow plumbers and gas safe engineers saying this was Martin Smith’s work, again all false allegations, so why didn’t Martin Smith try to defend himself.

Martin Smith did try to defend himself but by doing so just made the whole situation worse, engineers were accusing Martin Smith of being a dangerous gas engineer and when Martin Smith mentioned ‘have you got any proof’, all the reply he had gotten was, there are engineers saying this of whom are professional and MUST be telling the truth followed by swearing. What they don’t realise is that it started of from one person making accusations that were completely untrue. why? nobody knows.

The accusations started of from someone who calls himself S***** P****** of who has NO NAME, NO ADDRESS, NO NOTHING apart from a user name. This person could be anyone, is this the sort of person you would trust to try and expose someone or would you trust them to give a false alibi.

There was one accusation that did come of interest, it was under the – *If you missed the whole #SecretPlumber row – here it is* – just copy sentence and place it in the search engine. Just see what the Edinburgh News had to say about this. Maybe it’s all connected or maybe it’s not!

In Martin Smith opinion, the truth is when social abuse happens, the people that give the abuse however bad, don’t know there giving it unless it’s for financial gain. What Martin would like to share is, he wouldn’t expose his person life reason being ITS PERSONAL and when being questioned, don’t expect an answer.

Here are some of Martin Smith’s Tweets that may come to mind when it comes to social media abuse. Martin Tweets ‘just done a job on such a such and has regarded it at At Risk and unsafe, well one engineer argued I was wrong, it’s NCS and safe well the other argued I was wrong and it was Immediately dangerous, Martin was in the middle of what was going to be a case was, it didn’t matter if Martin was wrong, he was always going to be wrong even if he was right. Martin Smith was always going to be wrong by those who had replied to his Tweets. Does this make Martin dangerous, Martin Smith doesn’t think so.

Without going into all the tweets and boring most people well reading this, there was a tweet that Martin found amusing, it was the tweet about a bit of paint that was on the boiler. As Martin remembers the whole situation, it was about a fellow gas engineer who had come across a boiler that had been completely painted over, which Martin had given his opinion over, but all of a sudden because Martin gave his opinion, someone then twisted this has to being Martin Smiths work. Umm! Does this mean we should believe everything that is online. Let you decide that one.

Martin Smith has learnt to take fellow gas engineers answers with a pinch of salt and believes your either safe or your not until proven unsafe otherwise. On the other hand, Martin Smith did feel that he had been abused by social media but on the other hand, it has made him stronger and is the inspiration to such an article including his terms and conditions.

The morale of this article is all about, if ever Martin Smith was to be involved in a social media melt down, then Martin Smith will most likely not reply and may block those who try to give him the abuse however minor it may come across. To those who get social abuse and have read this, I hope it helps you, but if Martin can give you any tips, is when reporting anyone giving the abuse, is to make sure you follow it through. Up to now, Martin Smith has only reported 2 accounts and has managed to get them both suspended.

Latest Twitter Abuse News 11th May 2015: Received an anonymous phone call a few days ago telling me who it is. Half asleep at the time, however, it made me think that there was a motive, as I can’t point the finger at anyone due to legal reasons, I know who you are and you will know that I know who you are. The person in question will pretend to be me on social networks in hoping that they will have some kind of gain at the end of all this. The person impersonating me now is P******H***. This is not my account and has nothing to do with me.

Feel free to read some of Martin Smith emergency plumber articles and hope you enjoy, be careful has to not trip over some words as you may get some abuse from social media. Apart from this then try to make social media a nice place and enjoy yourself. Feel free to read my blocked central heating pipes article.

Just below are the engineers that had won the plumber of the year 2012, 2013 and 2014 and hope to make it in the 2015. Just below we explain on what it takes to get to the top of the plumbers league 2015 and will be updated on a monthly basis.

Every month there will be 10 engineers scoring points from 1 to 10, Ten being more successful and One being the least successful out of the 10. However please keep in mind there are over 450 engineers register and if you were to get at least One point, then you will be classed as one of the top plumbers getting a score this month.

Latest news as of 29/12/15: Andrew Jones is crowned plumber of the year 2015 by Martin Smith and will join the list of great engineers over the years.

The engineers that have won the plumber of the year previously are as listed below.

Lee (The Animal) Cambell 2012.

Damon (DrIvE Hard) (disqualified) 2013.

Thomas (Tank) Sweeney 2014.

Andrew (Chicken Leg) Jones 2015.

Points are rated from the quality of the service and how well you as an emergency plumber/gas engineer help our company out in what we are trying to achieve as a national company. Honesty is very important in our company but not only that, it is very important to keep the customer happy and try getting reviews and great feed back. Just below is a list of what it takes to get yourself on the scoreboards and is in order of importance.

Getting a 5 star review as this helps our company to drive customers towards us.

Paying the 10% lead fee on further work you get from a customer that has come from us via an emergency plumbing job or general.

Getting to the customer within the time stated.

Being consistent and being on call most of the time but also letting us know when your going off call via the App (App coming out early March 2015).

Passing work our way from other customers as recommendation (We have schemes that help you earn from this technique). Any future emergencies that also have come via previous emergencies must come through us.

Any other good causes help us to help you the plumbers to grow our business and be successful.

Want to know how to score then click on this link, how do I score for plumber of the Month & Year.

January 2015

As shown above in the list, it is very important to help us as we will do our best to help you. We have had engineers give us £300 donation (Thank you Mohammed from Edinburgh) to help grow the business which in turn has helped him get more work. We have had engineers pay us 10% commission (thank you Thomas Sweeney from Wirral) most frequently. We have had engineers pass work our way as recommendation (Thank you, Lee Cambell from Wigan). We have had engineers place reviews on yell.com. Thank you to (myself) um! got to try and get more engineers doing this as there are not enough. 30+ reviews to date. We have some engineers travelling up to 90-minutes (Thank you to Darrel from Carlisle). We have an engineer that does an average of 45-minutes to every job (Thank you to Steve from Milton Keynes). There’s a hole load of other engineers that we can thank you for help that they give in emergencies they do for us.

February 2015

Just below is the latest scores for the month and below that will be the total amount of points complete for this year. We particularly thank Andrew this month for getting 2 reviews followed by Thomas and Ali getting 1 review each. For the rest of the table we thank them for paying there fees, being on call most of the time and driving to distances estimated at about 1-hours driving time. At the moment we now have 42-reviews to date which is 12-more reviews than we had in January which equals 1 review every 3-days. Most reviews have come from the owner of the company Martin Smith at a review every other job.

March 2015

March has been an unusual month for us due to social and media abuse, the review system had to be shut down for a couple of weeks as unknown reviews were made were a solicitor had to get involved, a couple of Twitter accounts were suspended due to the abuse we were getting. We have to pay special thanks to Andrew Jones (3-reviews) and Dave Hignett (3-reviews) for there help in the review system and have a feeling they may be neck and neck come the end of the year but thats not to forget Steve May that has been outstanding due to the areas he covers. We have now got 64 reviews to date within 3-weeks of reviewing, thats an incredible 1-review each day. Most reviews have come from the owner Martin Smith.

There may be engineers that we believe can do so much better and scoring more points but until they do everything we hope they do, this remains to be the points they will receive. What i am most happy with is the top 3 this month who will gain more work due to there commitment they have put in to our company. There may be a few engineers that may feel disappoint, however please bare in mind that taking time of can also change your rankings and wouldn’t be fair to engineers that have worked hard to get where they are in there rankings.

April 2015

Unusual month again with spammy bad reviews coming in from competitors so review system had to be taken down but there must be a special thanks to Andrew Jones and Mohammed Ali from Edinburgh. We have now got a special plumbing reviews system being incorporated.

Please feel free to read our article of the month ‘Nest Room Thermostat Fitting Service‘

May 2015

May has been an unusual month due to engineers being on holiday as apart from Dave who got first place, there has not been engineers scoring high and have been mostly average. We can also say thank you to Majid, Ali Mandozai and Mohammed Ali for doing long distances. Dave has been outstanding this month due to reviews, distance and always being on call. Much thank you to Osi also for going the leader board and coming in 3rd place. This leaves the top 4 Dave, Andrew, Ali and Thomas tight in the run in to plumber of the year 2015.

June 2015

This month hasn’t been as busy as previous months due to the warm weather, but what I can say is, there are at least 3 engineers that deserve top spot, unfortunately top spot can only go to one. Top spot will be going to the one that has had plenty of reviews, paid his 10% fees and plenty of them, has gone the distance and has had ok availability. Second spot is going to an engineer that has driven the distance, got plenty of reviews and has been available most of the time. Third spot is going to an engineer that had driven almost 2-hour and paid more money than anyone for his fees but also has had the best attendance.

July 2015

This month has picked up with an estimate 20% expansion of work specially in the northwest, which we can thank Andrew & Dave, specially to there commitment of getting reviews. We thank Mohammed for the amount of money he has paid into the system. All engineer in the top 10 this month have gone more than there 1-hour driving with Mohammed driving the furthest out (2-hours plus). We give Majid the honour of being the most on call engineer & most special points go to Ali. The weather has been very hot this month but has not effected the amount of calls coming in. We would like to say congratulations to Bob who is a Plumber/Gas Safe engineer but who has also become qualified as an electrician. Damon keeps breaking down, Dave is doing his Gas course & Andrew really wants a new van.

August 2015

This month has not been our usual month for traffic and has been lower than expected, however it has been our busiest August on record has the business continues to expand. This month I would like to pay particular thanks to Andrew Jones to his contribution of money he has paid into the system and there reviews he has brought in, I would also like to praise Dave Hignett for the amount of reviews he has brought into the company. We would like to praise 2 new engineers coming into our league system Steven Oxborough and Philip Parnell for the distance they have cover and the fee that Steven has paid and can only imagine it getting better for them due to his efforts they has put in. Unfortunately we are sad to say, we have had to suspend an engineer this month from getting work as he was found to be ripping a customer off and will no longer be given any working in future. We have a maximum of 40-points available until the end of this year and a prize will be given to either 1st place or any engineer that can get above the score of 90 point complete at end of year. At this point we find that this is only possible with the top 7-engineers in the plumbers league below. From today there are new rules that an engineer can only score a maximum of 2-reviews in a day.

September 2015

Has been a slow month this month for a September however towards the end has picked up which is most likely due to the weather getting colder and customer starting to put on there boiler. I would like to particular thanks to Andrew again for contributing money into the system earning himself an extra 15-points. We have had at least 9 engineers drive over 60-minutes in distance. Andrew and Dave came joint 8 reviews as also Thomas who is fight close in 3rd place managed to get a nice review. We would like to remind the engineers that next month there will be much more work as the busy period is just about to start and Martin Smith the owner of the company takes to the night shift from 8pm to 8am. I would also like to mention that this months has been great for plenty of new engineers registering up.

October 2015

Weather starting to get colder but has been fairly average for the time of year starting off cold but getting slightly warmer by a couple of degrees, however, this month has not failed to keep within prediction. In other words it’s been fairly busy.

Andrew Jones has made the biggest impression again and is only 8 points away from winning this years plumber of the year but also looks clear favourite now. Ali and Michael have done particular well due to the distance they have also covered and the reviews they have had of customers. We thank Michael for passing customers our way.

November 2015

A slow warm start to November but half way through the month has seen work pick up specially at the weekends. As normal we find that Andrew Jones has fashionably kept up way in front due to the hard work he puts in with no question at all. Michael Cooper has put many miles in and helping out in awkward situations. Gary Angus we pay special praise to him due to some good reviews he has received.

The up and coming month looks good to be a special month not only for its celebrations but for what should be a month that we hope will break some new records. It is also the final month which helps decide the plumber of the year 2015 which is already been won by Andrew Jones but won’t be officially declared until then as it is now impossible for anyone to beat him.

December 2015

What a busy month it has been setting plenty of new record but mostly warm averaging at about 9 degrees. This month we have seen plenty of engineers go the extra distance and wouldn’t say there was just one engineer as plenty of them pulled together to get through this very busy month. The overall winner of this year was Andrew Jones winning the most expensive tool bag any engineer could get his hands on.

Plumber Of The Month September

10 Andrew Jones (82 points)

9 Ali Mandozai (55 points)

Wanting the best central heating controls, but unsure what is out there and what you can buy in the current market. Martin Smith an emergency plumber was also unsure as it wasn’t advertised good enough, it’s only lucky for the news in the plumbing industry that this is brought up, but how would the general pubic know of this or plumbers that don’t have the time to read. As shown in the picture, is an indication of what you will get and gives you more of a feel of what this article, the best central heating controls is all about.

As this product has only been in the plumbing news since last couple of days from the date of this post, it is only fair to say that, this product is new on the market. Over the last decade, a thermostatic radiator valve has been very standard, with no movement of evolution and there hasn’t really been any changes much. In the last 10-years, there has been new products brought on by the iPhone, that is changing the way our day to day life is working towards for our extra comfort, which also include saving the planet in the way we use our energy.

So what difference will the best central heating controls do for me in this current day

The difference with the best central heating controls are, you can be at work and control the heating from one room to the other, without being at home. Say you leave your house and well being out at work, you then realise you will not be returning home until the next day or maybe you will be late coming home. In this day and age, your house heats up with nobody at home wasting your central heating costs. Having your house heat up when you don’t require it to, becomes a waste of energy in the heat it produces. Another good point about the best central heating controls are, if your at home, but only your using the living room and you don’t require the use of the bedroom until later on at night. Then from the touch of the mobile phone, all you need to do is choose to keep it to a certain temperature, until you require it to get warm, again saving you money in the central heating cost.

In the picture above, it has the name of the website that you can visit and also make these calculations in to what your savings will eventually be if you were to buy this product and how much cooler it would be to have the latest technology.

How much would it cost to buy the best central heating controls

To buy this product, you will be looking to pay about £1000, which does not include the labour cost and is just the supply of the user unit, hot water unit and up to 8 thermostatic radiator valves. For the labour cost of this on average, it would be fair to say the cost of fitting this would be on average about £700 and could take about 2-day work for one person, but would also include any materials within reason. All together as a rough estimate, the engineer would charge about £1700, however every engineer will charge different and this is a guess and is not a price to go of. If you feel that this is way out, then we would like to know your thoughts, so that we can update this article of the best central heating controls by sending us an email to emergencyplumber@me.com

Welcome back to the new year and what better to start this of than the new tube & copper pipe straightening tool and the first of it’s kind. Here we will explain everything you need to know about how to straighten copper pipe by using this great tool called the tube pipe straightening tool.

Why use a pipe straightening tool

The reason it is better to use the tube or copper pipe straightening tool is because, it leave the pipe more neater and easier to fit. As in most cases like before, the 10mm pipe was never meant to be on show with its non-abiltiy to keep straight when working on the central heating pipe when plumbing up to the radiator. But in most case we see it every as it’s cheaper to use and quicker to use.

A straight pipe will also help with the flow and efficiency of the central heating water flow. It can be used for 4, 6,8 and 10mm but also in metric and imperial. All you need to do is straighten the copper pipe by hand and then feed through the tube and copper pipe straightening tool.

Where can I buy the tube and copper pipe straightening tool

You can buy the tool from KWIX UK and will cost you about £39.99 plus packaging and shipping at about £5.99

How long does it take to receive the pipe straightening tool

To receive the tube and copper pipe straightening tool we can only explain on personal record. Martin Smith an experience emergency plumber had purchased the product and it was delivered within 2-weeks. Before the product is send out and is paid for, you will be asked what size you require.

What else can the tube and copper pipe straighten tool do

Once the pipe has been straightened out, you may need to make bend for where ever the pipe is leading to. To help make the bending allot neater, you can use a pencil to make a straight line so that the pipework has guide to follow, this can be done by inserting the pipe through the side of the tool and inserting a pencil through where you would originally placed either the tube or copper into the tool.

Pipe Straightening Tool Reviews

Martin Smith an experience emergency plumber has tested the tool to see if it is capable of doing what it says it can. In Martin’s view, it is a very good tool and would definitely use this in future and recommend it to other fellow central heating engineers alike. With this tube and copper pipe straightening tool, the professionals have just got more professional. Just below we have included a video to make your experience on what this remarkable tool can do.

Emergency Plumber Of The Year 2014 & General News

Welcome to our latest plumbing news and were almost finished with 2013 and moving into 2014 but what this article is mainly about is our emergency plumber of the year 2014. Last year it was Lee Cambell who held the Plumber of the year and what a great plumber Lee still is. This year the title of Plumber of the year 2014 will go to Damon Owen. Damon Owen has won the title for plumber of the year because he has been very polite, has the biggest percentage of plumbing emergencies taken on but not only that, the main reason and most impressively is average driving distance was estimated to be 1-hour. If Damon was very lucky he would have a plumbing emergency in Pontypool, but most of his call-outs would come from outside his area. Damon has been known to travel a few time about 1-hour and 30-minutes when attending a plumbing emergency.

Plumber of the year 2014

Damon who has won the Plumber of the year 2014 is an emergency plumber and here is what he has had to say about our company.

“I am 28 years old. I have been in the plumbing and heating industry from the age of 17, so that is 12 years. I was a reservist, in the armed forces while I was learning my trade. I did a 5 year apprenticeship, not like some these days who can be a plumber after a 2 month course.
When I was around 25 I went in the armed forces full time just for a change and a bit more of a challenge. When I come out, I really struggled to get back on my feet and back in to a job, so I set up my own company and superdry plumbing was born.
When I first set my company up I was just an every day plumber who no one knew about and had to get my name out there with the aim of being known as a good honest and reliable emergency plumber who will come when he says he will and treat you with the up most respect.
I found it hard to get a good supply of work and when I saw Martin Smith was looking to recommend a plumber in South Wales and Bristol area, I then registered all my details with him online.
On one of my call outs, my van broke down, but as a true professional, I fixed it at the side of the road. I got to the job cold and wet, the customer offered me a change of clothes, so in my wet cloths, I fixed the leaking radiator and made my way back home. The words from that customer were; Fair play son your the man. A true dedicated professional who definitely went that extra mile for me and my family”. That made me feel so proud.
I must say to be an emergency plumber takes more dedication than the day to day plumber. I have left shopping at the supermarket and put up with the consquents of the wife and worked on Christmas eve and boxing day. I no longer drink alcohol as Im on call 365-days a year, and even left the wife at the cinema one day (Worse husband of the year).
I have been on call outs at 4am, I have been to night clubs at 3am and have had to even put my hand down toilets, but I must say best job in the world.
I love my job as an emergency plumber, as I see so many happy faces after I save them from a flood or any other water related problems. Im so happy to be plumber of the year 2014, words can’t say how much. When I had the call to say I won it, I,ve been smiling to my self ever since,
and I have won it for my self and my family, as when I 1st started receiving jobs that Martin recommended my way, I found out i was to be a dad. It’s true to say I have a big head now. I received top recruit when in my forces training out of 50 lads and now out of 400 plumbers who also are recommended by Martin. Im number one. That goes to show, if you work hard and give 110%, you will shine and Mr Smith had rewarded me with this truly great reward. So what’s next for me. Well im definitely going for plumber of the year 2014 and 2015 for 2 years in a row and would be a 1st with Mr Smith and im going to keep doing the good work. This bit is to Mr Smith. Thank you for recommending so many jobs to me as you didn’t have to and words can’t say how grateful I am to you. As I say all the time one day I could win the lottery and ill give you half. You have made it so my child eats well and has all things she needs. For that my door is always open to you and your family”.

“Martin thank you so much from me and my family”.

Martin Smith an Emergency Plumber from Manchester explains about a new App for Android & IOS App and has been updated to meet the customers and the Gas Safe Engineers requirements. This App was founded by Joe Falcone. Joe Falcone realised there was a gap in the market for an easy to use and affordable system for completing and sending gas safety records, warning notices & electrical cross bonding records. Just below is some useful information.

If you haven’t got the iPhone App for the Gas Safe Certificate, then it may be a good idea to get it now. As since 2012 the IOS App for the iPhone has been available and has been reported to be very useful but the only downside was, that it wasn’t available in the android version until now.

As of November 2013 the App is now available in the Android & IOS. Gas Safe Engineers can now use the Gas Safe Certificate App saving paperwork and further costs, rather than having the paperwork hanging around.

The Gas safety App allows gas safety engineer to complete gas safe certificate, warning notices and cross bonding records and automatically email completed certificates to clients. User also have access to there own online database. On the database there is storage with all completed certificates, clients and job details where can get full data and sent to your customers.

New gas engineers to this app will get a free trial to this app allowing them to have up to 3 customers stored before they decide to buy the app. Once the engineer is found to be satisfied in the app after 3 users, then the gas safe engineer will pay 30p per customer they do a gas safe certificate for. There is no hidden fees or subscription charge.

The Easy Safety Cert app can be download for free onto iPhone, iPad and Android devices, just search ‘ESC GasCert’ in iTunes and Google Play.

This app also allows a remind to precious customers before and lets you know almost a year later than the previous customer is due for there next gas safe certificate. This will help you contact your previous customer helping them to remember who they had to there house so that they don’t need to do the hard work in try to find there previous gas engineer.

An example from one of our previous gas engineers in Wigan had replied on the customer calling them but until the gas safety certificate, he is now able to contact the customer through the previous data without no hassle or future complications. Gas Safety Certificate are a very important part of the house inspection and must be taken very serious. The gas safe certificate app is also taken very serious.

If you would like to use this app then visit the site, which is printed within the picture at the top right and side. If your an emergency plumber or a gas safe engineer then feel free to request to join our database of engineers by sending us an email to emergencyplumber@me.com

There are also news on other apps such as the Boiler Fault Finder App.

The latest report by Ty Harnett has report of a new boiler fault finder app recently and like never before, the fault finding app has more advances than it’s pre-accesses. Here is what Ty Harnett has to say.

Intruduction

Boiler Fault Finder – The Problem

Far too many gas safe registered heating engineers are unable to accurately diagnose and repair faults on their customer’s boilers. Research commissioned by an independent professional body within the industry, proved that many gas engineers were unable to demonstrate vital skills to carry out fault finding on boilers. Research commissioned by an independent professional body within the industry, proved that many gas engineers were unable to demonstrate vital skills to carry out fault finding on boilers.

The Boiler Fault FInding Solution;

Boiler Fault Finder is an easy to navigate, technical support workmate, providing many features such as fault finding & diagnosis, boiler manuals, electrical safety checks, system component testing and sequence of boiler operation. The app greatly simplifies current repair execution techniques by eliminating time consuming and inconvenient phone calls to boiler technical departments. The easily navigable linear interface provides all the easy-to-perform steps required to find the fault and how to fix. The Boiler Fault Finder App has never been more accurate until now! The aim of its design is simple; to assist the gas engineer, accurately and safely, allowing them to build a base on which to develop their own skills, at their own pace.

The main disadvantages to training courses:

Costly (£150 – £250 per day).

Valuable time off fee earning work- incurring loss of earnings.

Does not allow the engineers to learn at their own pace, where it matters – onsite.

Limitations on how much one can learn in one day.

The main advantages why Boiler Fault Finder comes into its own:

Inexpensive compared to one day awareness training courses.

Easy to access and navigate, offering on-site technical support.

Demonstrate technical ability, enhancing business reputation.

No need to incur loss of earnings – “earn while you learn”.

All this condensed into the palm of your hand.

Advanced plumbing students at colleges.

Plumbing & heating installers throughout the UK.

Other useful information below;

If you are a gas safe plumber with an into fault finding on boilers then feel free to request to join our database of plumbing engineers throughout the UK by sending us an email to emergencyplumber@me.com

It is well known throughout the plumbing industry that 1 in 3 plumbing issues is due to a faulty boiler. Faulty boilers mostly occur in the Winter period and what better to become apart of the new technology. Using this boiler fault finder app helps out by keeping boilers at bay and keeping those most important, warm at the worse months of there lives.
